Grandiloquent Wretches

by Rhea Seren Phillips

An explosive exploration into the cultural identity of modern Wales through the Welsh metrical tradition in English. It makes strange new music for Wales today, drawing on folklore, myth, historical legends and family memories from Wales and around the world.

Grandiloquent Wretches is the 13th and last volume in the Boiled String Poetry series, edited by John Goodby.

About Rhea

Rhea Seren Phillips is a PhD. student at Swansea University (2016-2020).

Her research focuses on how the Welsh metrical tradition could reinterpret the cultural identity of modern Wales.

You can read more about the work Rhea does through her blog, Grandiloquent Wretches.
