Y Sidydd / Zodiac
by Rhys Trimble, Euros Bowen
Revolutionary poet and priest Euros Bowen was to Welsh literature what T. S. Eliot and Ezra Pound were to English: he connected Welsh writing with international Modernism.
Bowen’s sequence of 12 Sacramentalist or shamanic poems on the Zodiac, published in Welsh in 1961, has been rediscovered by neo-Bardic poet Rhys Trimble.
The Welsh poems are reprinted here alongside Trimble’s electric, experimental English versions.
