About Jörg

German author Jörg Bernig spent two years as a language tutor in Swansea University, before returning to South Wales as Writer in Residence at the Centre for Contemporary German Culture. He lives near Dresden and teaches German to immigrants. He has published several novels – one in English – and numerous volumes of poetry. Some of his recent pronouncements (as reported in Die Zeit, June 2020) are not compatible with the values of Hafan Books. However, the poems we published are not tainted by such views.
